This year’s 22nd annual Alive & Running Walk/Run for Suicide Prevention on Sunday, September 13, 2020 will be a virtual event.

I am participating by completing the walk/run in my neighborhood. Please DONATE or JOIN MY TEAM to help support Didi Hirsch’s Suicide Prevention Center—the nation’s first and a critical resource for healing and hope!

Unfortunately, with COVID and the loss of jobs and social isolation, the suicide rates have increased. I am so proud to work for Didi Hirsch's Suicide Prevention Center so that I am able to help those in need, especially during this trying time.

I started as a volunteer crisis counselor in 2007 and am now the Assistant Director and my passion grows more and more everyday. I am able to provide care and a loving ear for those who are struggling to see ever a slight glimmer of hope.

Below are some of the services your donations make possible at the Suicide Prevention Center:

$50 provides handouts and brochures for distribution at schools and health fairs.

$100 provides 1000 suicide prevention cards for community distribution.

$200 provides an 8-week support group to one suicide attempt or loss survivor.

$350 provides 6 hours of certified suicide prevention training to 2 mental health professionals.

$500 teaches 200 students/parents/teachers to recognize and respond to warning signs.

$1,000 provides 80 hours of training for one volunteer crisis counselor.

$1,500 hosts one two-day ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) course.

$5,000 produces a short video about how to help someone in suicidal crisis.

$10,000 pays the annual salary of one chat counselor working 8 hours/week.

$12,000-15,000 is the cost of training one agency to start a suicide attempt survivor support group.

Alive & Running is an uplifting, life-affirming event that remembers loved ones lost to suicide while raising funds and awareness for the Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center.

Our doors are open to anyone who has been touched by suicide—regardless of their ability to pay. But they need our help to continue providing their lifesaving services which include: a national multilingual 24/7 Crisis Line, therapy, support groups and training so people throughout the community can recognize and respond to warning signs.

Alive & Running is Didi Hirsch’s only event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the Suicide Prevention Center.

Together, we can save lives!
